A consistent style and approach to coding and analysis is vital for every Data Scientist. Working in a team requires that each team member use similar approaches. This ensures that projects can be handed off when the time comes without the technical debt of relearning someone else’s work. Institutional Research has adopted series of Good Programming Practices (GPPs), project templates, and code templates in order to adopt a consistent approach to coding.
