4.19 Data Validation Procedures
Each program has some build in PROC FREQ
sections to provide counts of records by term or whatever horizon is most salient to the data. It is important to inspect these quality checks to ensure that the data are correct and valid before doing any kind of analysis on them.
Additionally, as mentioned above in each section, there are quality checks to make sure that valid data are recorded in each data set. This includes logical values (e.g. GPAs should all be positive).
