This dashboard repesents a review of students who take the LIB 100 course. It includes a review of basic demographics (race, gender, origin) as well as what the students participate in on campus (Greek life, Athletics,) and finally their academic outcomes. This analysis is descriptive only and is not controlled. As such causal inferences cannot be drawn from these findings.
Most students take LIB 100 within their first four terms, with 10% going on to take a higher level course in LIB after LIB 100. Student who take LIB 100 are slightly more likely to be male, and an athlete. Those who take LIB 100 are more likely to major in Economics, Communications, and Finance than their peers who did not. First year retention and graduation rates tend to be higher for those students who took LIB 100 than those who did not, but it is unknown if this relationship is causal (it is unknown if students who haver a higher probability of retention enroll in LIB 100 at higher rates).
This section provides an overview of enrollment statistics as well as a look at when students enroll in the course.
This section looks at the enrolled students by term. Note that the format is YYYYMM where the first four digits are the year and the fifth and sixth digits are when the term started, so 80 = fall and 10 = spring.
This section looks at the enrollment by first time, full time students by cohort (e.g. 2014 means the first year students entering in 2014).
This next chart looks at what term students take LIB 100.
To date 9.6% take a higher level course in LIB after LIB 100.
This section is an overview of the demographics of those students who took LIB 100 versus those who did not.
Race is defined by self-declared race. If a student identifies as Hispanic, then they are counted as hispanic, regardless if they chose multiple races. Additionally, international students are included in the race that they selected rather than separately as “Non-Resident Aliens” as in IPEDS reporting.
