About Us

The Wake Forest Emergency Response Team (WFERT) is a student-run volunteer organization which seeks to provide high-quality first-response care to medical emergencies on the university campus. When an emergency is reported, student emergency medical technicians (EMTs) quickly respond to the scene with the equipment and training to provide basic life support, asses the patient’s further needs, and provide the necessary care.

In case of a minor emergency, the patient will either be released after care or escorted to the Student Health Service for further attention.

In case of an emergency in which ambulance transport is required, the patient will be turned over to Forsyth County EMS, who will in turn provide Advanced Life Support en route to a nearby hospital.

WFERT also provides stand-by support during sporting events as well as large-scale activities such as the annual Project Pumpkin.
