There are several different campus organizations with a focus on community service, so you may be asking yourself why join Rotaract? What about Rotaract makes it unique?
Here is a look at the Rotaract International mission statement: The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
What does that mean for you? Rotaract is about helping people. If we see a need in the community, our school, or within our group we have the means and drive to address it. Community service is at the heart of our organization, but not at the expense of serving our campus and serving each other.
Rotaract is also about developing leadership and professional skills. Everyone involved in Rotaract at Wake Forest has an opportunity to step into a campus leadership position if they so desire, including but not limited to officer and committee chair positions. Everyone also has the opportunity to interact with Rotary leaders and develop skills that will help them be successful professional adults.
