Wake Forest NATIONAL EARLYBIRD

JUDGING INFORMATION

Debate: Every four debaters (or fraction thereof) must be accompanied by a competent judge. Judges must be specified to judge in the JV or Varsity Pool, as the divisions are in separate locations. A limited number of hired judges will be available for $200.00 per obligated judging slot (one judge slot per four debaters). It is possible for judges to be assigned to Varsity one day and JV another if arranged for in advance of the tournament.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate: One qualified judge must accompany every 4 (or fraction thereof) debaters entered in Lincoln-Douglas. Lincoln-Douglas Judges can be hired at $150.00 per obligated judging slot (one judge slot per four debaters).

Public Forum Debate: One qualified judge must accompany every 4 (or fraction thereof) debaters entered in Public Forum Debate. Public Forum judges can be hired at $150.00 per obligated judging slot (one judge slot per four debaters).

Individual Events and L-D: One qualified judge must accompany every 6 I. E. entry slots (or fraction thereof). Hired judges are available for $120.00 per obligated judge slot (one judge slot per 6 I. E. entry slots). Congress entries count toward a school's IE judge requirement. The number of Congress entries is added to the number of IE entries to determine a school's judge requirement. Each school with entries in Congress must designate ONE of their IE judges as "qualified" to judge Congress. This judge may be used entirely for Congress, or may be placed in the IE pool at the tournament staff's discretion.

All Events: Since IE and L-D will be held at the North Forsyth campus one judge cannot fulfill both an I. E. and a team debate obligation. Judge obligations extend one round past the round in which that judge's team(s) were eliminated or through Octa-Finals in Debate and L-D and Semi-finals in I.E.s. As a courtesy and honor to those participating in elimination rounds, anyone (guest judges included) who MUST leave early should notify the respective tournament directors in advance.
