Wake
Forest University, North Forsyth High School, and Mount Tabor High
School take pleasure in inviting you to the National Earlybird Forensics
Tournament, September14-16, 2007 Our coaching staffs and debate/forensics
squads are prepared to make every effort to provide you with the hospitality,
competition, and professional tournament administration necessary
for an enjoyable weekend.
Wake
Forest has over a century-old tradition in collegiate debate and has
held tournaments and workshops for high school debate since 1917.
North Forsyth and Mount Tabor High Schools have been very helpful,
offering the Earlybird first-rate facilities for hosting the tournament.
Having four competition sites complicates logistics a little, but
the more civilized schedule makes the tournament a more enjoyable
experience for everyone.
Last
year the tournament hosted nearly one hundred and thirty schools.
The positive response to the tournament has forced us to limit entries,
so it pays to enter promptly ("the Earlybird catches..."). Please
read the material carefully and note we are using hotels that differ
from last year and each has an independent accommodations cutoff date.
The
tournament will be sanctioned for all State Association member schools.
If you have any problems in that regard please call us and we will
do all we can to help. Additionally, quarterfinalists in team debate
and octafinalist Lincoln-Douglas are qualifiers for the Tournament
of Champions at the University of Kentucky. We have already had a
number of requests for invitations, and we are expecting fine competition
from around the country.
We
hope you can join us as we greet a new year of debate and forensics
competition.
