A month long tour
of the US by Baltic States debaters included a stop at Wake Forest.
The team composed one debater from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia participated
in debates at twelve US colleges and universities. Jurate Motiejunaite
(Lithuania) Andy Nelson (Wake Freshman), and Cyclone Covey (Wake Law)
defended the resolution: This house believes the world was safer during
the cold war. The opposition was provided by Liina Naaber (Estonia),
Evija Rudzite (Latvia), and Daveed Gartenstein-Ross (NYU Law School).
The US tour was organized by Allan Louden then chairperson of the National
Communication Association's Committee on International Discussion and
Debate.
