Hunger Banquet: Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 6:30 PM
The Volunteer Service Corps and Amnesty International are co-sponsoring a Hunger Banquet on Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30pm. The event will be held in the Autumn Room down from the Magnolia Room in Reynolda Hall. The event should last approximately 90 minutes, is open to all students, and is free of charge. Donations will be collected and sent to Oxfam to promote food distribution and education programs.
The purpose of the Hunger Banquet is to demonstrate the extent of world hunger in today's society. At the Hunger Banquet, attendees will experience the impact that poverty has on food availability. We hope that attending the Hunger Banquet and seeing how great the gap is between the dining experience of the rich and the poor will raise awareness about world hunger.
Please join us for this event. If you could RSVP to volunteer@wfu.edu. For information via text message, text the world ‘hunger’ to 39649.
