Pi Beta Ongoing Programs
Ivy Arms Tutorials: All sorors tutor students grades K-12 every Monday at Ivy Arms, a community center established by the Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Shorefair Drive Clean-up: As apart of the “Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful” initiative, Pi Beta adopted Shorefair Drive. Sorors clean the street every other week and even encourage members of the Wake Forest community to participate.
FemininiTEA: Protocol is such an essential part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, thus the sorors of Pi Beta hosts a tea featuring workshops on etiquette in business and social situations. Pi Beta Current Programs
Breast Cancer Awareness: Pi Beta recognizes the seriousness of breast cancer awareness by hosting an annual forum featuring the inspiring stories of survivors and life-saving tips for early detection.
Buckle-Up Initiative: The majority of car accidents involve victims who were not wearing seatbelts. Pi Beta encourages the use of restraints while driving with an informational pamphlet that was passed out to cars in all the major parking lots on the Wake Forest campus.
AKA Study Break: The week of exams can be an extremely stressful period for Wake students. Pi Beta offers a relaxing departure from the library with an assortment of foods and beverages, along with fellowship.
“Safe Love”: A disproportionate number of African-American women are living with AIDS. The seriousness of this epidemic in our community fostered the idea of “Safe Love,” a day in which Pi Beta offers free AIDS testing and pass out condom goodie bags.
Pamper Day: Pamper Day features a professional manicurist, make-up artist, yoga session, massage station, and even healthy smoothies to smooth out the stresses of campus life.
Mr. MiAKA Pageant: The Mr. MiAKA is a tradition at the Pi Beta chapter. Wake Forest men display their talents and intellect to prove that they deserve to be Mr. MiAKA. It is a fun filled event for everyone.
Cabaret (Semi-Formal): Pi Beta offers a nice reprieve from the ordinary Wake party with a dazzling semi-formal ball featuring live music, refreshements and an enjoyable time.
