The committee met again with Brenda Balzer and Ralph Pederson of Human resources to discuss their draft recommendation for an ACS career ladder. The plan contained three levels, and it is anticipated that salary ranges will be highly overlapping.
The committee was generally pleased with the draft, but offered several suggestions. Changes in several areas of competency were suggested. The most significant suggestion was to rely less heavily on formal certification programs and to rather include alternative ways of demonstrating expertise in each area.
