CIT, March 23, 1999

Present at the meeting: Brown, Cottrell, Dominick, Evans, McCray, Pendergraft, Titus, Wicker.

Jay Dominick opened the meeting with an explanation of the recent password changes. The team that audits IS has pointed out the need for passwords to change on a regular basis. IS is exploring various compliance procedures. It quickly became clear that an array of University interest groups oppose password changes at particular times during the spring and fall semesters. Jay will review the timing of password changes, and then will circulate proposed solutions to the CIT via the listserv for discussion at the next meeting.

The IBM 390E Thinkpad, the machine adopted for May distribution, was demonstrated for the committee's information.
