Service Projects.
Our organization maintains many long-term service projects throughout the year, and also organizes and participates in several short-term projects every semester. Here are just some of the volunteering opportunities we have.
National Projects
Food Bank of North Carolina - Twice a week, brothers volunteer at the Food Bank of North Carolina and help in the warehouse. The sorting, labeling, boxing, and moving of foodstuffs is just a small step towards helping to end hunger in North Carolina.

Community Projects
Samaritan Ministries - About a dozen times a year, brothers staff and assist at the Samaritan Inn, located in downtown Winston-Salem. Volunteers help in the soup kitchen, and then staff the homeless shelter throughout the night until they serve breakfast to the residents in the morning.
Easton Elementary School Tutoring - Several times a week, brothers visit Easton Elementary School to work with young children in the after-school program. Brothers help students with their homework, while serving as mentors for the children as well.
Adopt-A-Street - Kappa Theta Chapter has adopted a two-mile stretch of University Parkway near Silas Creek. Every month, brothers clean and maintain thehighway.
Campus Projects
Luminaries - Wake Forest's traditional Moravian Lovefeast, held each year before Christmas, wouldn't be nearly as magical without the luminaries set up by the brothers of Alpha Phi Omega. Hundreds of luminaries line the quad walkways towards Wait Chapel.
Ushering - The brothers of Alpha Phi Omega serve as ushers at numerous events held at Wake Forest each year, including many concerts that are a part of the Secrest Artist Series, and Convocations.
Graduation Chair Setup - Commencement takes place on the main Quad in front of Wait Chapel each spring, and over 10,000 chairs are needed. Each year, brothers of Alpha Phi Omega volunteer to stay past exams to help Facilities Management prepare for the ceremony.
Flyer Pickup - In order to help Wake Forest look its best, volunteers routinely remove old flyers from buildings, lamposts, sidewalks, and inside dormitories, dining halls, and classrooms.
